Hugh Jackman responds to criticism of X-Men Origins: Wolverine

One of the biggest letdowns for me had to be X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, most of this due to the handling of Deadpool. I don’t need to rehash that because the majority of you already know what I’m talking about. When Hugh Jackman spoke with Entertainment Weekly, he admitted that the film didn’t exactly turn out they way he wanted it to, and it may not have done what was intended:

“…we could have done better. Somehow the first Wolverine movie ended up looking like the fourth X-Men — just with different characters. I left unsure if we’d achieved our goal, which was to make sure people understood my character.”

I think we are all familiar with Jackman’s feelings on returning to play Wolverine in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. However, it seems that the actor is still unsure whether we will see him on the big screen again in the role:

“I wasn’t even sure after the first [stand-alone] film if I would do another. I won’t say never, because I’m still loving it. But there would have to be a pretty compelling reason.”

But what about replacing him? Producer Hutch Parker said it would be “blasphemous”.
