Iconic killers join a boy band for Slashstreet Boys parody music video

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Ladies and gentlemen, horror fans of all ages, I'd like you to put your hands together for the musical ensemble of your worst nightmares … the Slashstreet Boys! Let's keep the noise going as we welcome each iconic killer to the stage: Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, Michael Myers, and Leatherface! Remember to remain behind the barricade at all times, lest you want to lose a limb, or your soul!

Last Friday, The Merkins, in collaboration with Taco Truck, unleashed their latest latest music video for the track "I'll Kill You That Way". The song places a comedic spin on the 1999 chart-topper "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys, and gives us a look at how the maniacal quintet would perform as an affectionate boy band. As the group moves from Camp Crystal Lake to gynasiums filled with victims, I mean students, there's no doubt in my mind that the song's lyrics come directly from their still-beating black hearts. In other words, the swoon factor is high, my friends. Steel yourselves.

Not to be upstaged by his corrupt cohorts, Michael Myers returned to theaters this past Friday for the release of David Gordon Green's HALLOWEEN. Over the weekend, the masked murderer filled his Halloween bucket with $77.5 million in treats, making his latest killing spree the second best October box office earner of all time. With HALLOWEEN having been such a major success, I can only hope that some serious bids to bring FRIDAY THE 13TH and A NIGHTAMRE ON ELM STREET back to the big screen are forthcoming. In fact, earlier this morning there was a story going around about Lebron James having signed on to produce a new FRIDAY THE 13TH, though I think that we here at JoBlo will wait for an official word before we start getting excited.
