Infinity War directors confirm which other Marvel characters lived and died

**SUPER DUPER SPOILERS FOR INFINITY WAR**

The end of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR saw the death (evaporation?) of several major Marvel characters, including some we never thought they would take out. This resulted in fans speculating as to what other characters bit the dust offscreen, as the franchise is made of more than just Avengers. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo sat down to confirm which characters lived and died off-camera, and which may be too spoilery to confirm or deny.

The directors were speaking with Huffington Post recently when they were asked about the fates of several random MCU characters. Among the characters in question were Howard the Duck (Seth Green), Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), the actor who played Loki in THOR: RAGNAROK (Matt Damon), Betty Ross (Liv Tyler), Korg (Taika Waititi) and Miek, Shuri (Letitia Wright), Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander), Ned (Jacob Batalon), Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) and Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o)

Now in the “safe” category, the Russos confirmed that Howard, May, and Nakia were still alive. Granted, Nakia seemed like a soft "safe," but the directors seemed pretty positive about her survival saying she's "on missions". Now, I know what you're all thinking, and I'm right there with you: Thank the almighty fish god Howard the Duck is still puttering along! Now we can really get this franchise going.

In the “dead” column are some characters we haven’t seen in the MCU for some time (and won’t ever again, probably) like Actor Loki, Ross, and Sif. Alexander was busy shooting her show BLINDSPOT during INFINITY WAR production, and the other members of the Warriors Three all died in RAGNAROK. So, it appears Marvel doesn’t have much desire to bring any of them back. As for Ross, her love interest Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) seems to have a thing for Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) now, so, yeah.

The rest — Foster, Korg/Miek, Shuri, and Ned — were deemed too spoilery to reveal by the directors. When it comes to Korg it probably means he (and maybe Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie?) were able to escape the Asgardian ship when Thanos attacked. The more surprising one was Foster, who Anthony commented on saying, “When we say spoiler, [we mean] potential spoiler.” Thor may need some consoling after the events of INFINITY WAR, which would be a good re-entrance for Jane after we last saw her in THOR: THE DARK WORLD.

So, there you have it. Though this doesn’t answer nearly enough live/die questions we now have some closure when it comes to other characters. When the directors said “spoiler” for some characters I assume that means they lived, but in saying so reveals too much about what they have planned. Or they're super dead too. I don't even know what to think with these movies anymore. Coming out of this one I realized I know nothing. I'm just like Jon Snow.
