WWE Studios certainly has a spotty track record when it comes to their feature films. They've have some entertaining fare along the way, to be fair, but a good deal of it is still WWE Superstars in lead roles mostly out of their element. Some have been better than others, but, for a film studio to limit its audience by being mostly geared towards the WWE Universe… well, that doesn't really help grow your product.

But all it takes is one real breakout performance or hit to grab some eyes, and then you're in a whole new ballgame… and perhaps their next film INTERROGATION is it? This time they've got WWE Hall of Famer Adam "Edge" Copeland in the lead. Now while WWE fans will fondly remember Copeland from his time in the ring as "the Rated-R Superstar," he has worked to become a better actor since retiring. He starred in a WWE Studios picture in the past (the best thing in BENDING THE RULES), but was also a series regular on the Syfy series HAVEN and will be apearing in Season Two of THE FLASH.

His co-star C.J. Perry, best known as Lana to the WWE Universe, has been a model, dancer, singer and actress before she ever became associated with the WWE, and has made appearances in the PITCH PERFECT series. Maybe this is a pairing that takes the WWE's action partnership with Lionsgate to the next level.

After the FBI receives a threat that endangers the entire city, an interrogator (Copeland) and an IT specialist (Lana) are plunged into a series of mind games with a criminal mastermind, desperately racing against time to uncover the villain’s true agenda as they fight to protect thousands of lives.

The first trailer for INTERROGATION certainly has promise. It feels like a real movie, and Edge has a certain charisma about him that could help carry the flick. Will it work? Who knows? But we won't have to wait long to find out with INTERROGATION hitting Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on September 20.
