Interview: Lockout star Guy Pearce

Guy Pearce rocks! This fantastic actor has taken on some incredible characters including his work in MEMENTO, L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, THE PROPOSITION and so many others. He has the amazing ability to take on the leading man role as well as being a phenomenal character actor. And with his latest feature LOCKOUT, he proves to be one incredible action star as well. He is part Snake Plissken and part John McLane, yet as Snow, Pearce brings in his own natural charm and really takes the film to another level.

I’ve been a fan of Mr. Pearce for a very long time so to sit across from him and talk shop was a terrific experience. We talked about the line of creating humor with a character like Snow, yet not taking it too far. He spoke about playing the guy that you essentially love to hate and working with the film’s directors James Mather and Stephen St. Leger. While I may have been a fan before LOCKOUT, I continue to be impressed with this versatile actor. While we did not get a chance to talk PROMETHEUS, I look forward to seeing him there. It seems that 2012 is looking to be a great year for Guy.

LOCKOUT opens today at a theatre near you.

"I remember after L.A Confidential, people would come up to me and say 'I hated you so much, but I couldn't stop watching' and I thought 'Good, good', that's kind of what you want really..."
