James Bond Revisited: Skyfall

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In the wake of Quantum of Solace's disappointing critical reaction, EON Productions, headed by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, knew that they needed to step things up creatively for the follow-up Daniel Craig 007 outing. Thus, for Skyfall, they hired a bonafide A-list director, Sam Mendes, who'd won an Oscar for American Beauty. While nothing in his filmography suggested he would be the most obvious choice for a James Bond movie, it turned out that he did an inspired job, with Skyfall ranking for many as one of the best 007 movies ever. Join us on James Bond Revisited as we take a look back at this colossal blockbuster, including the Oscar-winning theme song by Adele, Javier Bardem's iconic turn as Silva, and more!

And, while you're at it, make sure to go back and check out our previous episodes of James Bond Revisited!  It's hard to believe that we've almost covered the entire series at this point. I hope you've all enjoyed watching these as much as I've enjoyed doing them. Let us know in the talkbacks how you've enjoyed the series!
