Jamie Bell says Fantastic Four does not have a post-credit stinger scene

It has become an assumption on our part that every superhero movie would come with an arbitrary post-credits sequence. After Marvel Studios perfected the stinger scene (as it is officially known), they even incorporated it into every single episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. But, as audiences have grown accustomed to seeing them, directors and producers have started to get wary lest the gimmick become a cliche unto itself.

With Josh Trank's FANTASTIC FOUR running the gamut from fan punching bag to potential kick-off point for 20th Century Fox's cinematic Marvel universe, the question has been asked as to whether the reboot featuring Marvel's first family will have a post-credits sequence. MTV asked the main cast at Comic Con and they deferred to Jamie Bell who gave this response.

No we don’t have a post-credits scene. It does leave the door wide open for a lot of different movies. I think this movie really focuses on the origins of each character individually; how they get their powers, how they learn to deal with them, how they learn to harness them. That’s kind of where the movie ends. But then there’s so much more to go on from there...it really leaves the door open.

So, there you have it. While Fox has already announced a sequel is in development for FANTASTIC FOUR, there is still plenty of time to call that off if the movie tanks at the box office. The latest trailer seems to be alleviating some concern about the tone and style of the new movie but everyone doesn't seem to be convinced. Check out our Comic Con coverage regarding FANTASTIC FOUR and more.

FANTASTIC FOUR hits theaters on August 7th.
