Jamie Foxx instructs Taron Egerton in the art of theft in Robin Hood trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Are we certain that ROBIN HOOD doesn't take place in some sort of future dystopia? Because the modern flair is throwing me off a bit. The upcoming Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) flick does at least look like an entertaining ride, but I can't help but think that we've got another KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD on our hands. ROBIN HOOD finds Taron Egerton (KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE) starring as Robin of Loxley, a war-hardened Crusader who, along with his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx), mounts an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance.

As part of the ROBIN HOOD promotion for San Diego Comic-Con, Lionsgate has partnered with the investing app Robinhood for a scavenger hunt titled "Crypto Power To The People." here's what the press-release has to say about the promotion:

The Robinhood app will reward fans with $50,000 in cash prizes to start investing in cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin), stocks, ETFs, and options, over a 3-day period (July 19-21). Prizes will be awarded to attendees who follow Lionsgate’s ROBIN HOOD social media channels for clues to the locations of secret prize drops in downtown San Diego. Lucky fans may win coins redeemable for $50, $500, $1,000, or $5,000. The San Diego Comic-Con activation marks the first in a series of activities in which the ROBIN HOOD film will reward fans with cryptocurrency, charitable donations, and prizes. Fans who don’t attend San Diego Comic-Con will still have the opportunity to engage with the campaign online and through grassroots activations leading up to the film’s release. Lionsgate Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Marketing Danielle DePalma and Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships and Promotions Paula Kupfer added, "We’re thrilled to partner with Robinhood to utilize state-of-the-art technology as a unique way to engage Robin Hood fans. In the spirit of the legendary hero, this collaboration gives back to the community through initiatives that parallel the high-octane adventures in our Robin Hood movie." ROBIN HOOD will hit theaters on November 21, 2018.
