Jamie Foxx may join Ansel Elgort & Lily James in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver

Edgar Wright's next film, BABY DRIVER, will follow a crime boss who coerces a young, talented getaway driver to work for him. The driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best. He must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. Something tells me this isn't your run-of-the-mill heist flick, and if Wright has his way, Jamie Foxx will be playing the crime boss pulling the strings.

It's been a couple of years since Edgar Wright's last directorial effort, THE WORLD'S END, and thanks to the ANT-MAN fiasco, it'll be a few more until we see his next. All I really care about is that Wright gets his way when it comes to DRIVER, and by all accounts, it sounds like he's going to. I know folks are a little iffy on Ansel Elgort playing the leading man, but people felt the same about Michael Cera in SCOTT PILGRIM, and that turned out well enough. Wright has always used music to great effect in his films, so I'm curious to see how it will play out in BABY DRIVER.

BABY DRIVER is currently scheduled for a March 17, 2017 release.

Are we all on-board for an Edgar Wright musical?
