Jamie Lee Curtis unmasks a terrifying Halloween trailer at CinemaCon

As you know, our own Editor-in-Chief Paul Shirey has been attending CinemaCon this week, and the lucky bastard has been able to catch some exciting surprises, such as an early look at James Wan's AQUAMAN as well as trailers for M. Night Shyamalan's GLASSFede Alvarez's THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB, and much more. During Universal's presentation at CinemaCon, Jamie Lee Curtis debuted the first trailer for David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's HALLOWEEN, and by all accounts, we're in store for a terrifying return to form.

Taking place forty years after the original film with Michael Myers having spent the decades incarcerated in an asylum, Laurie Strode (Curtis) is still dealing with the trauma from that bloody night, but remains vigilant as she anticipates the inevitable day when Myers will escape and she'll be able to kill him once and for all.

I certainly love the sound of that, and I'm hoping that we'll get to check out the HALLOWEEN trailer for ourselves before too long. After so many years of sub-par sequels (which, to be fair, are entertaining in their own way), I can't wait to see whether David Gordon Green and Danny McBride have been able to craft a worthy follow-up to John Carpenter's 1978 original.

HALLOWEEN will hit theaters on October 19, 2018.
