January Jones thinks that she might disappoint someone as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class

There’s something about Emma Frost that makes guys feel all lusty. She’s blonde, has a nice pair of stems, and often wears skimpy tight fitting clothes. What’s not to like? Now if only she would bake and deliver pies, she’d be the perfect woman.

I bet the current Emma Frost, January Jones knows how to bake a good pie. At first the costume worried her a bit, ”The costumes are insane. It’s a lot of very body-conscious stuff. If you look at the comic book, she’s barely dressed. She’s got quite the bod, which is very intimidating.” But if you notice, Frost is usually dressed a little more classy than fanboy art might portray her. Her get-up is a corset, skin tight pants, tall boots, and a cape. That’s not so bad right? She could have to deal with the scaley shit that Jennifer Lawrence has to deal with as Mystique, if they even decide to go that way. I can understand as a female though. I would feel really insecure if I had to put on Emma’s outfit. The cool thing is that Jones is told to avoid the gym so she can keep a body type typical of the period.

The actress is pretty happy that she gets to keep her curves and that she doesn’t have to go through an crazy wardrobe stuff, “I don’t have to do all the crazy prosthetics,” Jones said. “When I morph into my diamond form, it’s all done on computer.”

At first she wasn’t really thrilled about the part due to the fact that she’s already covering that period of time for MAD MEN, “When I heard that this installment of ‘X-Men’ was gonna take place in the ’60s I was like, ‘Oh my God, you must be kidding me!’ But I read the script and familiarized myself with the character of Emma Frost. She’s so, so far from Betty and from ‘Mad Men,’ and it takes place in that time but it doesn’t feel like a period movie.”

Jones knows that even if she completely embodies everything Emma Frost, she still may not please all the fanboys and fangirls, “Fans of the X-Men comics have a very set idea of these characters in their heads. I wanted to know as much as I could about her so I wasn’t disappointing anyone. I’m sure I will still disappoint someone.” Regardless, Jones is still having a good time, “I’m riding around in helicopters, I’m in a boat one day, I’m in all these fight sequences, we’re all over the English countryside. I feel like I’m a kid playing mutant.”
