Jason Statham The Fate of the Furious Dwayne Johnson

Universal Pictures ended their presentation at CinemaCon with a bang by screening THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS, not just a clip or an extended scene, but the entire film. Early reaction to the eighth installment of the FAST & FURIOUS franchise was pretty damn positive, with those in attendance enjoying the ridiculous ride it offered. Simply put, if you're a fan of a franchise, you'll likely love what F. Gary Gray and company have in store for you.

The rest of us will have to wait another two weeks before we get to sit down and watch THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS, but Universal has released a brand-new clip from the film which showcases Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) and Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) starting a little prison riot.

Is Dwayne Johnson just permanently shiny? I'm a late convert to the insanity that is the FAST & FURIOUS franchise, but I've had a lot of fun with the last few films. They scratch that itch which demands gravity-defying stunts, baritone musings on the importance of family and hundreds of millions of dollars of collateral damage.

THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS will roll into theaters on April 14, 2017.
