After seven years stuck in Saturday Night Live purgatory, it looks like Jason Sudeikis is finally getting out. Fresh off his great success in HORRIBLE BOSSES (and lesser success in HALL PASS and A GOOD OLD FASHIONED ORGY), he has just nabbed a part in DOG FIGHT, the new Jay Roach (MEET THE PARENTS) flick.
Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are set to star in the film as rival politicians in a small congressional district in South Carolina. The film will of course require you to completely suspend your sense of disbelief to think that either of those people would be competent congressmen. And one can only imagine their terrific Southern accents…
There’s no word on who Sudeikis will play, but he’ll be joining Sarah Baker and Katherine LaNasa, who were recently cast as the wives of the two leads.
DOG FIGHT is set to start filming in November in New Orleans for a planned release date of August 10th, 2012.
