Javier Bardem is awesomely evil in this new clip from Skyfall

At this point, it looks like a foregone conclusion that SKYFALL is going to rock. The critics are saying it pretty much unanimously, the score and theme song rock, the trailers are spectacular, the casting impeccable, and the direction looks solid. The only thing left is to actually see the movie.

Clips have begun to make their way out as the film gets closer to opening day. Each one has been an extention of something we have seen in the trailers. This new scene features dialogue between Bond (Daniel Craig) and Raul Silva (Javier Bardem) that accentuates just how perfectly villainous Silva is going to be.

It seems to be an unwritten rule in the Bond films that if the bad guy refers to 007 as James they have some sort of relationship, either real or imagined by the villain. We saw this most recently in GOLDENEYE. Something tells me there is a deep connection between Bond and Silva that likely ties back to M (Judi Dench), but I could be wrong.

Plot: Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

That train scene is shown briefly in the trailer, but seeing Bardem chew the scenery is just perfection. I cannot keep my expectations low for SKYFALL. Everything released so far tells me it is going to be the best movie of the year.

SKYFALL opens on October 26th in the UK and on November 9th in the US.

Extra Tidbit: Javier Bardem would have made a better Walter/Randall Flagg than Roland Deschain in the Ron Howard DARK TOWER movie.
