J.B. Smoove brings the ruckus to Cameron Crowe’s We Bought a Zoo

Will funnyman J.B. Smoove be advising someone (or some animal) in Cameron Crowe’s WE BOUGHT A ZOO to “get in that ass”? I wish!

But nevertheless, Smoove (HALL PASS, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”) will be bringing his brand of character and charisma to Crowe’s forthcoming family dramedy, says Variety. He’ll be joining an impressive cast that includes Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Thomas Haden Church, Elle Fanning, Patrick Fugit, and Angus Macfadyen. No word on what role he’ll be playing.

The film – written by Crowe and Aline Brosh McKenna (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) – is an adaptation of the memoir of former newspaper columnist Benjamin Mee who, along with his wife, two children, brother, and 76-year-old mother, moves into a rundown mansion that also happens to come with a 30-acre wildlife park that’s home to about 200 animals.

Smoove just wrapped filming on the David Gordon Green comedy THE SITTER and will next be seen again in the upcoming season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, no doubt bringing even more great Leon-isms for white people to mimic.

WE BOUGHT A ZOO is currently set for a December 23rd release.
