Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Jeffrey Wright is showing off his dedication to his role as Commissioner Gordon in Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN and he has taken to social media to show fans what preparation he's doing to do right by the role.

Wright posted a picture of "Batman: The Golden Age Vol.1" to his Instagram account and many commenters pointed out their enthusiasm that Wright shows that particular source as his starting point. The book, which Wright calls "background reads for the culture" in the caption, is a collection of the very first Batman comic book issues, as well as early appearances in Detective Comics, where his origin story was first revealed. Wright exploring Batman's origin along with Gordon's, shows that he's trying to get a better knowledge of the universe as a whole and wants more insight into how to all began.

Much like Robert Pattinson's Batman, Jeffrey Wright is playing a younger Jim Gordon then previous takes on the role in feature film. The fan-favorite television series Gotham served as an alternate look into the beginnings of Jim Gordon but THE BATMAN will offer up the most fresh feature adaptation take on the role since Gary Oldman took on the role in 2005's BATMAN BEGINS

Are YOU excited to see Jeffrey Wright take on the role? THE BATMAN is expected to hit screens on June 25, 2021.
