Jennifer Garner got in trouble for talking about Batman vs Superman

Take this for what it’s worth but Jennifer Garner is no longer going to be providing any inside information regarding BATMAN VS SUPERMAN. Being married to Ben Affleck, Garner most assuredly gets to hear some of what is going on involving her husband’s big superhero role. Back in January, the DRAFT DAY star said she had seen the new Batsuit and called it a “total reinvention” which also supported similar comments from Affleck’s buddy, Kevin Smith.

When asked for more tidbits by Collider, Garner was mum.

“Dude, I have gotten in some trouble for my little quotes and I’m learning to [makes zipped lips motion]. I thought that I was saying things that were foregone conclusions and it turns out nothing is, and you won’t be hearing from me on the Batman front [any more].”

So, either Garner’s comments hit too close to home for Warner Bros or the studio is not taking any chances and wants to lock down the rumor mill so they can control the release of information. Now, more than ever, with BATMAN VS SUPERMAN likely going head to head with CAPTAIN AMERICA 3, WB and DC need to make sure everything is perfect. They have already endured major backlash regarding the casting of Affleck, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

Part of me thinks that if the studio was confident in their product, they wouldn’t mind a little buzz from a harmless comment from someone not directly involved with BATMAN VS SUPERMAN. But, at the same time, I can see they want to take zero chances with such a monumental production.

BATMAN VS SUPERMAN hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
