John “Pops” Witherspoon says another Friday movie is imminent

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Happy Friday, party people! It's a shame that this news didn't drop yesterday on 4/20, but what are you going to do? Coming at you live from the Power 95.3 Get Up Crew, FRIDAY actor John Witherspoon cruised by the studio and dropped one hell of an info bomb when he stated that, "I was at the airport, I saw Ice Cube, and Cube said they were going to do another FRIDAY." Awwww yeah! You can check out Witherspoon's announcement by watching the video posted below:

It's been 15 years since "FRIDAY AFTER NEXT" blazed into theaters, and while I think FRIDAY and even NEXT FRIDAY are the far superior films of the franchise, I'm more than ready for another haphazard tale of hood-related "high-jinks". Of course, the question on everyone's mind, now that this news is out in the open, is will Chris Tucker will return to his hilarious, twitchy, and shit-in-your-bushes character, Smokey? I sure hope so, and if he does, they damn well better retcon that nonsense about him having given up the good green.

Either way, I'm genuinely very excited about there being another FRIDAY movie, but are you? Let us know in the comments below if you're prepared to roll another blunt with Craig, Day-Day, and Pops when another FRIDAY comedy officially starts filming.
