Back in 2011, a 3D remake of THE KILLER was announced, and at the time A MOMENT TO REMEMBER's John H. Lee was set to direct it with Jung Woo-Sung (THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE WEIRD) in the lead role, with original director John Woo serving as a producer. Obviously that version didn't happen, but during a recent conversation with Screen Daily at the Tokyo International Film Festival, Woo said it will be his next project.

Woo told the site that the plan is to move on to the remake after he finishes work on MANHUNT, his next directorial effort, which is a film adaptation of Juko Nishimura's Japanese novel Kimi Yo Fundo No Kawa No Watare.

I have never left. I still enjoy working with Hollywood. I still have a couple of projects developing in Hollywood. So after Manhunt, I probably will go back to Hollywood to make another action thriller. I’m going to make The Killer in an American version.

The only reason I'm even slightly ok with this is because of John Woo's involvement, but with the right director, maybe it won't end up being as bad as most other remakes. Who do you think should helm the planned THE KILLER remake?
