Jonathan Levine decides to take on helming duties for Little Girl Lost

It appears that Johnathan Levine (THE WACKNESS) is attached to direct LITTLE GIRL LOST.

Michael Bacall (SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD) will adapt the screenplay from Richard Aleas’ crime novel, which was also a finalist for both the Edgar Allan Poe Award and the Shamus Award. Richard Aleas is actually a pen name for Charles Ardai. The author is the founder of publishing company, Hard Case Crime. His book was published in 2004.

Levine just wrapped on shooting for LIVE WITH IT (which was once known as I’M WITH CANCER) with James McAvoy and Seth Rogen. He’s also attached to adapt the zombie love story from Isaac Marion, WARM BODIES.

What is the book about? Here’s a summary:

“Miranda Sugarman was supposed to be in the Midwest, working as an eye doctor. So how did she wind up shot to death on the roof of New York’s seediest strip club? It’s up to detective John Blake to uncover his ex-girlfriend’s secret life as a strip tease queen. But the deeper he digs, the darker the secrets he uncovers, until a shattering face-off in an East Village tenement changes his life forever…

Can Amber Heard be Sugarman? Please?
