Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough find Save Haven in a new Nicholas Sparks adaptation

Safe Haven book coverI want some of whatever magic success elixir Nicholas Sparks must surely have chanced upon, as the adaptations just keep on coming with Josh Duhamel (TRANSFORMERS) and Julianne Hough (ROCK OF AGES) signing on to star in the author’s 2010 hit SAFE HAVEN.

The story deals with “a young woman’s struggle to find love again after she arrives in a small North Carolina town. Her reluctance to join the tight-knit community raises questions about her past. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex, a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller.”

Lasse Hallström returns to direct after 2010’s DEAR JOHN from a script by Dana Stevens (CITY OF ANGELS) and Les Bohem (THE ALAMO). Production is scheduled to begin in North Carolina next month with an intended release date of February 8th, 2013.
