Justin Long trips balls in reality-shattering The Wave trailer

Epic Pictures today has debuted a psychedelic and visually-splendiferous trailer for THE WAVE, an upcoming science-fiction feature that is currently giving me flashbacks to my early college days. Acting as Gille Klabin's feature directorial debut, THE WAVE is written and produced by Carl W. Lucas. As your attorney I advise you to take a hit out of the little brown bottle in my briefcase. You won't need much. Just a tiny, tiny taste. Now that your third eye is squeegeed quite cleanly, I invite you to cast your inhibitions slide, and let the surreal madness of this THE WAVE take hold.

Here is the official syopsis for THE WAVE:

Justin Long (ACCEPTED, GALAXY QUEST) and Donald Faison (SCRUBS, CLUELESS) lead the unique modern-day parable that follows Frank (Long), an opportunistic insurance lawyer, who thinks he’s in for the time of his life when he goes out on the town to celebrate an upcoming promotion with his co-worker, Jeff (Faison). But their night takes a turn for the bizarre when Frank is dosed with a hallucinogen that completely alters his perception of the world, taking him on a psychedelic quest through board meetings, nightclubs, shootouts, and alternate dimensions. As Frank ping-pongs between reality and fantasy, he finds himself on a mission to find a missing girl, himself… and his wallet.

Joining Long and Faison for this reality-shattering feature are Tommy Flanagan (SONS OF ANARCHY, SIN CITY), Sheila Vand (A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT), Katia Winter (SLEEPY HOLLOW) and Ronnie Gene Blevins (JOE, TRUE DETECTIVE).

The film was produced by Robert Dehn and Monte Young, and produced for EchoWolf by Lucas and Joshua Bunting. It was co-produced by Andrew P. Aguilar and Seth Farley, with Jason Bender, Suzanne Niedland and Kevin P. Towler as executive producers, and Brian Ankrum and Nia Kingsley as associate producers.

In addition to the trailer, Epic Pictures also shared a brand-new poster for this film, which is due to hit your brain like a tidal wave in theaters and on VOD January 17, 2020.
