Shocking: Kate Beckinsale offered a leading role in her husband's Total Recall remake

Not one to shy away from nepotism, stunner Kate Beckinsale (UNDERWORLD 4: NEW DAWN) has reportedly been offered the role of 'Lori' in husband Len Wiseman's TOTAL RECALL remake.

Lori, as you might remember, was portrayed in director Paul Verhoeven's original classic by a then relatively unknown Sharon Stone (who'd soon go on to hit it huge with stuff like BASIC INSTINCT and CASINO). Beckinsale's offer comes about a month after names like Kate Bosworth and Diane Kruger were being tossed about as potential candidates for the role of Colin Farrel's hot but psycho wife.

Meanwhile, an actress for the role of 'Melina', Douglas Quaid's true romantic interest, is still being sought after. Deadline is now saying that the serious contenders for the part of the more exotic lead female are Eva Mendes (LAST NIGHT, THE OTHER GUYS) and Rosario Dawson (ZOOKEEPER, UNSTOPPABLE). Who would you prefer?

TOTAL RECALL gets its ass back to theaters August 3, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: Call me when they cast the three-titted wench, please.
