Kevin Smith Bringing Masters of the Universe Series to Netflix!

By the power of Grayskull! Kevin has the power!!! We were hit with some pretty insane news for a Sunday evening as it appears that Netflix is gracing us with a Masters of the Universe anime series from none other than Silent Bob himself, Kevin Smith! The announcement was just made at Power-Con in Anaheim, which is a convention that I never f*cking heard of! However, I damn sure know it now! Dig in on some of the deets:

Smith will serve as the executive producer and showrunner of Masters of the Universe: Revelation, a limited series which focuses on the unresolved storylines of the classic series, picking up many of the characters’ journeys where they left off decades ago.

Here's Netflix's announcement from Twitter:

And in true Kevin don't forget I'm a writer so here comes some witty reaction banter Smith fashion, here is what the dude said to his captivated Power-Con audience:

“I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe,” said Smith. “In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!”

What do you think, guys? I loved watching the He-Man cartoon as a kid, but don't have the slightest f*cking clue as to where the story ended or what characters were where. But in Kevin Smith we trust! The dude usually knows his shit when it comes to nostalgia, so here's hoping this new series isn't a real… Cringer! Sorry for that.
