Alpha Kodi Smit-McPhee

Set in Europe during the last Ice Age, ALPHA follows a young man (Kodi Smit-McPhee) who is injured and left for dead after a hunting expedition goes horribly wrong. Awakening to find himself alone and far from home, he must learn to survive and navigate the harsh and unforgiving wilderness, but wait, there's more! A lone wolf who has been abandoned by its pack soon becomes an unlikely ally to the young man, and together they must endure countless dangers and overwhelming odds in order to find their way home before the deadly winter arrives. Sony has released the first trailer for the survival drama, which you can find below.

"My father always told me, survival is never certain."

Well, it's certainly not THE REVENANT and I'm not sure that I buy Kodi Smit-McPhee as an Ice Age-era human, but as I'm a bit of a sucker for a decent survival drama, I'll probably wind up checking out ALPHA at some point. Directed by Albert Hughes and scripted by Dan Wiedenhaupt, ALPHA is Hughes' first feature film since the release of THE BOOK OF ELI in 2010, which he co-directed with his brother, Allen Hughes. What do you folks think of ALPHA?
