Ladies of Litchfield stand up for Orange is the New Black Season 5 Trailer

How far would you go to see that justice is served? What manner of rebellion are you willing to lead so that your voice is heard? What empowers you? What gives you the fuel to rebel and fight back? Those are just a few of the questions that the ladies of the Litchfield Penitentiary will have to ask themselves as they fight the power in the latest trailer for Season 5 of Netflix's ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK.

Here's the official synopsis for what you can expect to see during the latest season of this hilarious and often powerful series:

A riot sparked by Poussey's death quickly escalates when the inmates gain control of the prison. Once they get a taste of power, chaos ensues through the halls of Litchfield.  In real time and over the course of just three days, season five of Orange Is The New Black will leave the inmates' lives forever changed as they are emboldened to fight for redemption, resolution and the respect they deserve.

I sometimes feel a little like Michael Corleone from THE GODFATHER: PART III when it comes to watching ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, in that "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" I admit to almost having given up on the show at least twice in the past, but there's something special (I think) about it that keeps me coming back season after season. I enjoy a great many of the series characters, and by now, I feel genuinely invested in how several of the ladies will survive given the cruel conditions of the Litchfield Prison system.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, created by Jenji Kohan and starring Taylor Schilling, Michael Harney, Kate Mulgrew, Uzo Aduba, Daniel Brooks, Dascha Polanco, Laura Prepon, Jackie Cruz, Taryn Manning, Nick Sandow, Laverne Cox, and many , many more will debut its fifth season on Netflix Friday, June 9th.

Extra Tidbit: Jodie Foster directed the first episode of season 2 of the series, while Andrew McCarthy directed four in that same season as well.
