Gas up the Zamboni, sharpen your skates, and give Hans' tombstone a spit shine, because GILMORE GIRLS alumna Lauren Graham and GOOD BOYS actor Brady Noon are set to fly as cast members in the new Disney+ series THE MIGHTY DUCKS.

As per the project's latest press release, Graham is confirmed to have been cast in the lead role of Alex for the upcoming series, while Noon is set to play her son, Evan. Production on the 10-episode series is set to begin this month in Vancouver and will premiere later this year on the streaming service. In addition to her starring role, Graham will also serve as a co-executive producer on the series.

In present day Minnesota, the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team. After 12-year-old Evan (Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom Alex (Graham) set out to build their own ragtag team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of competitive youth sports.

Previously, it was announced that Emilio Estevez would be reprising his iconic role as Coach Gordon Bombay for the Mighty Ducks series. Estevez starred in both THE MIGHTY DUCKS and its sequel D2: THE MIGHTY DUCKS. He also appeared in the third film in the franchise, D3: THE MIGHTY DUCKS, though because of scheduling conflicts, his role was reduced to a cameo. In the original film, Bombay arrives as a hubristic defense attorney who, after winning his thirtieth case, is promptly arrested for drunk driving and is sentenced to 500 hours of community service. As per the punishment, he's enlisted as the coach of the local "District 5" Pee-Wee hockey team, as populated by a rag-tag group of adolescents who barely know how to skate, let alone handle a puck. As a veteran of the game with sour memories to haunt him, Bombay struggles to whip the team into shape while also keeping his inner hockey demons at bay. Before long, Bombay realizes that the team has potential, and thus the journey toward teaching them how to fly begins.

In recent times, Graham has appeared as Oxana Hauntley for the TV Series short VAMPIRINA. The aforementioned animated tale tells the story of a young vampire girl who faces the joys and trials of being the new kid in town when her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania. Of course, Graham is most famously known for playing Lorelai Gilmore, the mother of Alexis Bledel's Rory Gilmore, for the smash TV sensation GILMORE GIRLS.

As for Noon, the young GOOD BOYS actor got his acting start alternating the role of Tommy Darmody on four seasons of BOARDWALK EMPIRE with his twin brother, Conner.  He will next be seen in the comedy MARRY ME opposite Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.
