Limpet finally swims?

Anyone with a pre-cable childhood will probably be familiar with THE INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET, which seemed to air almost every Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

The half-animated 1964 movie starred the rubber-faced Don Knotts as a guy who gets transformed into a cartoon fish and assists the Allies in WWII. A remake has been in the works for ages, with spastic actors Jim Carrey and Robin Williams previously planning to get in touch with their animated aquatic selves, but the movie never surfaced.

While now lacking a leading manfish, the Warner Bros. update has a director: Kevin Lima, who would certainly be qualified, having last made the surprisingly enjoyable ENCHANTED and previously wrangled ‘toons on Disney’s TARZAN.

But who would be suitable to jump in the water as the heroic gill-guy?
