Marion Cotillard will be Woody Allen’s latest muse

Deadline’s Mike Fleming has reported that lovely French lass Marion Cotillard has been set to play the “muse” in Woody Allen’s next as-yet-untitled film.

Cotillard will be joining Owen Wilson and possibly the First Lady of France Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, whose “casting” has been talked about for awhile now without any sort of confirmation or denial.

The film, the second of a three-picture financing deal with Spanish production company Mediapro (the first being Allen’s YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER which is due out later this fall), “revolves around different members of a family, their tangled love lives and their attempts to try to solve their problems.” That doesn’t really tell us much since, if you know Allen’s relationship films, you know that a handful of them could be described in practically the same way. The filmmaker is notorious for not divulging specifics until his projects are pretty much complete.

Allen’s untitled film is expected to begin shooting sometime this summer. Cotillard will next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s hotly anticipated mindf*ck INCEPTION.
