Mark Ruffalo leads an emotional teaser trailer for I Know This Much Is True

HBO has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming star-studded limited series, I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE. Leading the emotionally-charged six-episode presentation is Mark Ruffalo (SPOTLIGHT, AVENGERS: ENDGAME), who plays twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey, for the series. Joining Ruffalo for the drama is a raft of acclaimed actresses, including Kathryn Hahn, Melissa Leo, Juliette Lewis, Archie Panjabi, Imogen Poots, and Rosie O’Donnell.

The series is based on the bestselling novel by Wally Lamb, and was adapted for the screen by Derek Cianfrance (BLUE VALENTINE, THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES). Cianfrance executive produces along with Ben Browning and Glen Basner for FilmNation Entertainment, Mark Ruffalo for Willi Hill Productions, Gregg Fienberg, Lynette Howell Taylor, Wally Lamb, Anya Epstein; Jamie Patricof co-executive produces. Cianfrance will also serve as director for all six episodes, which are set to premiere via HBO on April 27th.

According to HBO's official description, the series places Ruffalo in the spotlight as "identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in a family saga that follows their parallel lives in an epic story of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness. The series shows Dominick and Thomas at different stages in their lives, beginning in their present with both brothers approaching middle-age, filled in with Dominick’s flashbacks to their young adulthood."

Also on board to star as members of the cast are Philip Ettinger (FIRST REFORMED), John Procaccino (A MOST VIOLENT YEAR), Michael Greyeyes (BLOOD QUANTUM), and Bruce Greenwood (STAR TREK).

The trailer has I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE looking as if it could be an emotional powerhouse for all involved, as well as an opportunity for Ruffalo to really strut his stuff by taking on two raw and complicated roles.
