In the aftermath of an unspeakable act of terror, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent Richard Deslauriers (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman), Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese (J.K. Simmons) and nurse Carol Saunders (Michelle Monaghan), this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of one of the most sophisticated manhunts in law enforcement history. Check out the latest trailer capturing the events below!

While I haven't had the chance to see it myself, director Peter Berg's last directorial effort, DEEPWATER HORIZON, is said to be a very emotionally powerful film. From the looks of things he's carrying that over to this movie based around the Boston Marathon bombings. As far as your touching moments go, this trailer is very on the nose in that regard, so I'm curious to see how this will all play out in the context of the film. Sometimes there's a thin line between emotionally powerful and Lifetime movie.

PATRIOTS DAY will open in Boston, New York, and LA on December 21, 2016, and nationwide on January 13, 2017.
