Masters of the Universe: Revelation teaser takes us back to Grayskull

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

By the power of Grayskull! Prepare yourselves for a nostalgia overdose because Netflix just dropped a teaser trailer for Kevin Smith's Masters of the Universe: Revelation. This teaser is action-packed, and it's but a mere taste of what's to come. Set to Bonnie Tyler's iconic and energizing "Holding Out For a Hero," today's teaser features tons of your favorite characters from the original animated series. They even managed to get a shot of my favorite vehicle from the series, Skeletor's Land Shark! Granted, it doesn't last very long in the trailer, but old Bag-O-Bones probably has a whole fleet of them in the Castle Grayskull garage.

In addition to the teaser, Netflix also announced the new special Revelations: The Masters of the Universe Revelation Aftershow.

Part 1 (5 episodes) of the Mattel Television and Netflix series Masters of the Universe: Revelation and the aftershow special, Revelations: The Masters of the Universe Revelation Aftershow will premiere on Friday, July 23, only on Netflix.

Per Netflix, here's the official description for Revelations: The Masters of the Universe Revelation Aftershow:

A talk show and celebration of all things “Masters of the Universe: Revelation,” hosted by the keepers of the secrets of Grayskull: showrunner and executive producer Kevin Smith, executive producer and Vice President, Content Creative, Mattel Television Rob David, and actress Tiffany Smith.

The 25-minute episode will include appearances from Mark Hamill, Chris Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lena Headey, Tiffany Smith, Henry Rollins, Griffin Newman, Jason Mewes, and Alan Oppenheimer.

When it comes to the animated series itself, Netflix provided us with this official description:

The war for Eternia culminates in Masters of the Universe: Revelation, an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.

If you think that's all we've got, think again. There's also a gallery of new images for Masters of the Universe Revelation that you can drool over below:
