Contrary to what the title may have you thinking, THE LINCOLN LAWYER does not have Matthew McConaughey going back to the 1800s to serve the bearded slave-freeing president. Nor is he based near the memorial in Washington DC. Or even in the capitol of Nebraska. It’s all about the car.
The synopsis: Mickey Haller is a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln sedan. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of his career: defending Louis Roulet, a Beverly Hills playboy accused of rape and attempted murder. But the seemingly straightforward case suddenly develops into a deadly game of survival for Haller.
The movie is based on the bestselling book by Michael Connelly, and has a pretty interesting cast that also includes William H. Macy, Marisa Tomei, Bryan Cranston, Josh Lucas, Michael Pena and John Leguizamo.
