Matthew Vaughn already has ideas for a Kingsman 3

I would imagine that committing to making a new film before cameras have stopped rolling on your current project would be rather daunting. However, that doesn't stop filmmakers from having ideas and aspirations for the future, particularly if they feel super passionate about the material. While it's been noted that director Matthew Vaughn had experienced some trepidation about crafting a sequel to his 2015 hit KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE, it's now being reported that a third installment in the franchise could be on the horizon.

Vaughn, while attending a Fox preview event in London, England, where the filmmaker treated those in attendance (including our own Paul Shirey) to the entire first act of KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE, stated during a Q&A that he and writer Jane Goldman were already thinking about plans for a third installment of the action-packed super-spy thriller franchise.

“Weirdly while we were writing Kingsman 2, we were thinking of Kingsman 3 as well, which is odd,” said Vaughn. “We’ve got a big idea for that. This is sort of the bridge and if we can pull this off, we’ll make another one." Shortly after making that statement, Vaughn also said this, “I was very hesitant about making a sequel purely because so many sequels don’t really enhance the experience. They’re normally bigger but not necessarily better. I wasn’t really thinking about doing a sequel and then I woke up and had the story in my head it sort of made sense."

While we're not permitted to post spoilers about the footage that was shown at the Fox event, our own Paul Shirey was kind enough to tweet this tease regarding his thoughts on the first act of the film:

Hell yes! Personally, I enjoyed the daylights out of KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE and can't wait to see what manner of dignified punch KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE has in store for fans of the franchise. Make sure you stay close for more details concerning the Kingsman films, and don't forget to stealth your way into theaters when KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE starring Taron Egerton, Channing Tatum, Sophie Cookson, Poppy Delevingne, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges, and Colin Firth arrives in theaters on September 22, 2017.
