Michael B. Jordan to vamp it up for Blood Brothers

Michael B. Jordan is set to live forever… or that's how it's being set up for him in one of his next projects, an adaptation of the Dark Horse graphic novel BLOOD BROTHERS.

Telling the tale of a pair of vampire buddies who "have smoked opium with Genghis Khan, had orgies in Michelangelo’s studio, and even fronted a death metal band," BLOOD BROTHERS is built around Nick and Tree who have reached a rough patch in their friendship. Ready to go their separate ways, they're going to have to work through their issues as a villain obsessed with the apocalypse threatens the future of the world… meaning their existence, too.

Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller wrote the comic, and Etan Cohen, Derek Connolly and Colin Trevorrow have all taken cracks at the script, but MGM looks to be looking for someone else with a fresh idea on transitioning the original work to the big screen, going for a more grounded buddy movie like 48 HOURS or LETHAL WEAPON. (Oh no… there's that "grounded" term again that gets everyone in trouble).

How BLOOD BROTHERS shapes up is really going to depend on who is cast opposite Jordan, as chemistry between leads is what makes these sorts of movies. Jordan has shown he can handle just about anything thrown his way – FANTASTIC FOUR has been mostly forgotten with CREED on the horizon – so I'd say he's a good place to get started on your movie.

Michael B. Jordan can next be seen in CREED, which hits theaters on November 25.
