Michaela Coel & John Goodman uncover the truth in Black Earth Rising trailer

Netflix has released a trailer for BLACK EARTH RISING, an 8-episode TV series written and directed by Emmy nominee and BAFTA Award winner Hugo Blick (THE HONOURABLE WOMAN, SENSITIVE SKIN). The upcoming thriller stars Michaela Coel (BLACK MIRROR, CHEWING GUM) as Kate Asby, a woman who, as a child, was orphaned after the Rwandan genocide and raised in London by her adoptive mother, Eve (Harriet Walter). Haunted by the events of her past, Kate enlists the help of her lawyer, Michael Ennis (John Goodman) to discover the truth behind the massacre that left her without a people to call her own. As their investigation unravels, Kate is faced with a series of harsh truths that expose the hubris and deplorable nature of those responsible.

BLACK EARTH RISING is executive produced by Greg Brenman (PEAKY BLINDER, BILLY ELLIOT) and also stars Tamara Tunie (THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE, BLUE BLOODS) as Eunice Clayton and Noma Dumezweni (MARY POPPINS RETURNS, DIRTY PRETTY THINGS) as Alice Munezero.

You can check out the brand-new poster for BLACK EARTH RISING below, and be sure to catch the series when it makes its Netflix debut on January 25, 2019.
