Miles Teller says none of the cast have seen the final cut of Fantastic Four

While some of the early reactions to FANTASTIC FOUR may give hope to those who don't think the comments are from studio plants, but there are four important people who have yet to see the finished film: the stars.

In an interview with BBC Newsbeat, Miles Teller and Kate Mara confirmed that they have not seen the film. Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell have not seen it either, but Teller went on to elaborate on why he doesn't feel too concerned about the lack of critical reception leading to the film's release this weekend.

Rarely are films of this size critically well received," he said. "This is not a movie we're going to go on (review website) Rotten Tomatoes and it's going to be at 80 or 90 per cent. We did try to do something more than soulless, popcorn action. We tried to make something coming from a more dramatic standpoint so we're hoping that people enjoy it and recognise that we're trying to do something original."

The cast has consistently said that FANTASTIC FOUR is a departure from the other superhero films released over the last fifteen years. While I think there have been several critically lauded comic book movies, especially in recent years, I don't think there is anything wrong with trying something outside of the box. Whether the fans agree and praise FANTASTIC FOUR or despise it, there is nothing wrong with attempting something different, even if it deviates from the source material.

FANTASTIC FOUR opens this Friday.
