Minority Report TV pilot casts Daniel London from original movie

Last month we told you that the TV adaptation of the Steven Spielberg classic MINORITY REPORT had found someone to helm its pilot episode in established TV director Mark Mylod. The series that will pick up 10 years after the sci-fi extravaganza has now added a familiar face from the original movie. Sadly it's not Tom Cruise, but what a cameo that would be for sweeps month right? It’s Daniel London, who played the Minority Report precog caretaker to the three clairvoyant visionaries in the movie.

London will be playing the same role in the TV series which is set to follow a new detective who begins a sort of “spiritual working relationship” with one of the precogs from the movie.

Deadline reports:

[Minority Report] is set 10 years after the end of Precrime in D.C. One of the three Precogs, Dash, struggles to lead a “normal” human life, but remains haunted by visions of the future, when he meets a detective, Lara Vega, who is haunted by her past who just might help him find a purpose to his gift. London plays Wally the Caretaker, the gawky caretaker at the Precrime Temple where the children were observed. A decade later, he is eager to help Vega and is assisting Dash in establishing a new identity.

Another role cast is "Akeela, a Crime Scene Investigation technician who works closely with Vega" who will be played by Li Jun Li. The important roles of Dash and Vega have yet to be filled or maybe they haven't announced it quite yet for whatever reason, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the ensemble will look for this one. The pilot was written by Max Borenstein (GODZILLA) and Kevin Falls, who has experience on shows such as Sports Night, The West Wing, and Franklin & Bash, is the showrunner.
