Natalie Portman owns the room in first Jackie clip & TV spots

As I’ve said in previous articles JACKIE is one of my most anticipated films of the year. A primary reason for this is because, like most sane people, I’m a big fan of historical biopics with terrific performances leading the charge (hence what some may call my “unnatural” love for THE KING’S SPEECH). With what we’ve seen in the first trailer for the film, JACKIE is looking to be a worthy entry in the genre, and actress Natalie Portman is showing off what may be her best performance yet. If more evidence is needed then the following clip is for you, which puts Portman front and center as we get the best taste of her performance as Jackie Kennedy yet.

Witness a master class of acting below!

Like I said, master class. Portman is graceful yet firm in this scene, while still clearly shaken up after the assassination of her husband, John F. Kennedy. We also get a feel for Pablo Larrain’s directing style, as he makes excellent use of some panning shots and long takes as the conversation goes back and forth. Though it’s just a taste I can’t wait to see more of both their work here, which I can imagine will garner them both some awards love in the coming months. Oh, and don't forget to check out the two new TV spots below! Promise me you won't forget!

JACKIE hits limited theaters this weekend!
