Netflix orders Will Ferrell and Liz Feldman's dark comedy series Dead To Me

With his upcoming films ZEROVILLE and HOMES AND WATSON now in post-production, it's been announced that Will Ferrell will partner with NBC's ONE BIG HAPPY creator Liz Feldman for a new dark comedy series on Netflix entitled DEAD TO ME. The show, which the streaming giant has given a straight-to-series order, will play out over the course of 10 half-hour long episodes. The show will look to define a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret.

Liz Feldman, who in the past has served as a writer on 2 BROKE GIRLS and THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW, will pen the script for DEAD TO ME in addition to acting as an executive producer, showrunner, and co-star of the new comedy. Producing the series will be Gloria Sanchez Productions, the sister studio to Gary Sanchez Productions that focuses on female-centric content. Will Ferrell, Adam MacKay and Jessica Elbaum will also executive produce alongside Feldman.

Ferrell's last series gig was for the Patrick Brammall and Trent O'Donnell half-hour comedy NO ACTIVITY, in which Ferrell starred as Adrian, in a show that follows two low-level cops who have spent far too much time in a car together; two criminals who are largely kept in the dark; two dispatch workers who haven't really clicked; and two Mexican tunnelers who are in way too small a space considering they've only just met.
