New Arrowverse Elseworlds promo reveals first footage of Batwoman

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Good afternoon, Bat-fans! It is my pleasure to report that The CW has finally released footage of Ruby Rose's Batwoman in action, as part of a promo for the Arrowverse's upcoming Elseworlds event. Now, while the teaser only offers a brief glimpse of Kate Kane's alter ego, Batwoman, it does highlight the character's sleek costume design, mystique, and overall flare for dramatic entrances. Also featured in the promo is Grant Gustin, who oddly enough is dressed as the Green Arrow, and Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco Ramon / Vibe for the DCEU universe. As the pair inch ever closer to the Batwoman, neither hero can believe that they're seeing her in the finely-suited flesh.

Kate Kane's arrival as part of the three-night Elseworlds crossover event is to serve as a launching pad for her own solo series on The CW. The anticipated BATWOMAN project was announced back in July to mixed reactions (because of course it was), with opinions escalating even more after the casting of Ruby Rose (JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 2, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK) was announced.

For the first episode of the 3-part event, The Flash, Supergirl and Green Arrow will find themselves in Gotham City, as they hope to track down an Arkham Asylum doctor by the name of John Deegan, portrayed by LOST and SLEEPY HOLLOW actor Jeremy Davies. While the group's motivation for seeking out the good doctor remains unclear at this time, you can bet Batman's giant penny that it's because he's been up to no good. Or perhaps not. After all, we won't know for certain until the episode airs, right? One thing's for sure, the Elseworlds crossover is bound to get weird, as Barry and Oliver are expected to change places, Superman dons a black suit, the Trigger Twins show up, and a whole lot more.

The CW's Elseworlds crossover event begins with THE FLASH on Sunday, December 9, then ARROW on Monday, December 10, and ends with SUPERGIRL on Tuesday, December 11.
