New badass trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire with Eva Green, Sullivan Stapleton, and Rodrigo Santoro!

A new trailer for 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE has dropped, featuring all the hyper-stylized badassery you can handle. Starring Eva Green, Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, and Lena Headey, the sequel to Zack Snyder's 2006 adaptation of Frank Miller's novel has all the stylistic trimmings of the original, only this time under the helm of Noam Murro.

Shall we dine in hell?:

Here's the synopsis:

Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel "Xerxes" and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster 300, this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. 300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

After seeing the presentation at SDCC and subsequent trailers, I'm sold on this one. I loved the first 300 and although the sequel will have an uphill battle in comparisons to the first, I think it's got enough cool factor to be another fun, crazy, over-the-top actioner for the masses. Plus, Eva Green looks super bad ass and sexy as hell as Artemisia and that alone may well be worth the price of admission.

300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE slashes into theaters on March 7, 2014.
