New Black Widow trailers are expected to drop ahead of the film’s release

If you thought that Marvel had dropped the final trailer for BLACK WIDOW back in March, think again. According to the British Board of Film Classification, two new trailers for Marvel's second female-fronted superhero action-adventure are expected to hit ahead of the movie's November release. Upon doing a bit of digging, you'll find that one trailer runs at 2m 38s, and the other at 1m 44s. What either trailer hopes to reveal about Natasha Romanoff's long-overdue solo feature remains to be seen, but you can bet that Marvel fans will be poised and ready to check out the film's new promotional materials.

Marvel's BLACK WIDOW was originally set for release in the U.K. and U.S. on May 1, 2020, but then the global pandemic happened, which forced theaters to close up shop until such a time when it's deemed safe to return to cinemas. Sadly, the world's theatrical summer film schedule has been annihilated, leaving Marvel little choice but to reschedule much of their slate of Phase 4 films. To make matters worse, confirmed cases of the coronavirus are on the rise once more in certain parts of the world, especially in the United States. It stands to reason that unless people can come together and do what needs to be done to quell the virus, it could be a very long time before theaters are able to safely reopen in areas where ticket sales matter most.

For the moment, we've no word on when the new BLACK WIDOW trailers will arrive, but it's entirely possible that one could make its debut later this month during San Diego Comic-Con@Home. While Marvel Studios has no plans to participate in the event, it's entirely possible that they'll take advantage of the virtual event's online presence to drop a new trailer. We'll be paying close attention to this year's show and will be sure to let you know if Natasha and the rest of her spy-oriented family return for another trailer during that time.

Here's the official synopsis for Marvel's BLACK WIDOW:

At birth, the Black Widow (aka Natasha Romanova) is given to the KGB, which grooms her to become its ultimate operative. When the U.S.S.R. breaks up, the government tries to kill her as the action moves to present-day New York, where she is a freelance operative.

Directed by Cate Shortland from a script penned by Ned Benson, BLACK WIDOW will serve as the MCU's second female-fronted superhero film after directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's CAPTAIN MARVEL, starring Brie Larson. Joining Johansson on BLACK WIDOW are Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova; Rachel Weisz as Melina Vostokoff; and David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian. Robert Downey Jr. is also rumored to star as Tony Stark, though his part in the film has yet to be confirmed.
