New Bonnie & Clyde

BONNIE & CLYDE is considered a classic, and deservedly so. But wouldn’t the story of the infamous bank robbers, previously played by killer couple Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, be more interesting if it starred a young pop singer and a random dude?

Probably not, but that’s what we’re getting — an update of the notorious twosome’s violent thefts and wild romance in the 1930s. Only now it comes with former Disney cupcake Hilary Duff, and chisel-cheeked actor Kevin Zegers, perhaps best known as the semi-heroic mall cop from the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake.

This new version comes from indie director Tonya S. Holly, and is described as a “retelling” instead of a remake, focusing on “times in the couple’s lives not seen onscreen before” (whatever that might mean).
