New Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 concept art shows a lot of teeth

The Guardians of the Galaxy look as if they're going to have their hands full as they move into VOLUME 2 of their saga. That's what the latest concept art for the Marvel sequel reveals as the squad rallies together to take on some wild space monster with a lot of teeth and tentacles for days. 

The artwork is set to be featured in the latest issue of Empire Magazine, but, for those of you who don't have a subscription and didn't want to go on the hunt for it, director James Gunn has brought it to us in digital form… and now I bring it to you. Thus, the circle is complete. 

But as cool as this fierce skirmish between the Guardians and this creature seems to be (and which should look cool on the big screen), you can't help but have your heart melt at the sight of adorable little Baby Groot who is getting the hell out of Dodge at the moment. That little guy is going to steal this movie, isn't he?

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 opens in theaters on May 5, 2017.
