New HBO promo reveals a very brief first look at Game of Thrones season 8

This year marks the first since GAME OF THRONES debuted that there will be no season of the incredibly popular show, leading to mass sorrow and looking out the window in despair and confusion. At this point we will take any info or goodies to satisfy our lust for more drama, dragons, and blood, and thus the promo HBO has released for their upcoming slate of shows is most welcome. We only get a brief blink-and-miss-it amount of footage for the final season of the show, but it’s the best we’ve got. Drink it all in.

The moment comes in at the 1:11 mark and finds Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) embracing in Winterfell, which comes after most of season seven had them apart. It’s not much, but there’s a look in her eyes that hints that things have changed between the two, which reveals a bit about how their relationship will play out in the final season.

But it’s not all GAME OF THRONES in the promo, and we get looks at other shows like TRUE DETECTIVE season three with Mahershala Ali, the new show CAMPING with Jennifer Garner, the second season of BARRY with Bill Hader, and the return of BIG LITTLE LIES with none other than Meryl F**king Streep. Basically, the promo reminds you why HBO has the best TV shows around.

GOT will debut on a currently unknown date in the first half of 2019, which means we will probably see much more in terms of promotional materials as we move into fall and winter, even though the folks at HBO will likely be keeping everything they possibly can as top secret as they possibly can. Everyone is so keen to know how this final season will play out that there are some who are probably dissecting this one-second piece of footage for any clues it may hold. The craving is real.
