New Picard teaser features more Riker and Troi, welcomes a new Vulcan

Before we're all beamed aboard the Starship 2020, and embark on a year-long journey into the unknown, CBS All Access has unveiled a new teaser trailer for STAR TREK: PICARD, the upcoming series starring Patrick Stewart as perhaps his most iconic character ever, Jean-Luc Picard.

The teaser clip features Jean-Luc reconnecting with his old friends and former Enterprise crewmembers Will Riker and Deanna Troi, who appear to have adjusted to their post-exploration lifestyle with a fair amount of ease. Before long, it's revealed that Jean-Luc has brought ominous tidings to Riker and Troi's doorstep, of which revolve around a young girl and perhaps an interstellar conspiracy that lurks among the stars.

As the clip plays on, we're also introduced to a new Vulcan Starfleet officer, in addition to seeing Seven of Nine participating in a heated gunfight, duel-blasters style, baby! Oh, and are those Birds of Prey I see? I might not be the most knowledgable Star Trek fan on the planet, but this series looks to have a great mix of elements both nostalgic and new to keep sci-fi fanatics in anticipation of this new adventure.

For STAR TREK: PICARD, Stewart will be joined by castmates Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway. This exciting new chapter of the Star Trek universe will premiere on CBS All Access January 23, 2020.
