New poster for A Good Day To Die Hard with Bruce Willis and Jai Courtney is on fire

UPDATE: Den of Geek got an exclusive UK vesion of the poster, complete with a new tagline and Russian backdrop. Scroll below to check it out.

Well, I’ll say this about the new poster for A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD…it doesn’t have that cheesy tagline attached!  That said, it’s a pretty by-the-numbers poster, complete with the new hotness that is the flame-and-cinder style that seems to cover every action movie out the gate these days.  It’s not that it’s not cool, it’s just that it’s overdone at this point.

The new film catches John McClane (Bruce Willis) chasing down his son, Jack (Jai Courtney), who is an undercover CIA agent facing a bad ass array of Russian baddies.  Always helpful when your dad shows up, especially if he’s the “hero of Nakatomi.”  I’ve said my piece on the PG-13’s and lack of an inspired directing choice in the past, but I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt on this one.  I’ve made my peace with them never recapturing the magic of my all-time favorite movie, the original 1988 DIE HARD, so now I can move on and let the new guard roll in.

And here’s the UK version with the new tagline:

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD, directed by John Moore (MAX PAYNE) and starring Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney, Sebastian Koch, and Cole Hauser opens on February 14, 2013 in regular and IMAX formats.

Here’s the trailer once again…
