New red band trailer for Alien: Covenant teases a gory terror fest

ALIEN: COVENANT is shaping up to be, at the very least, a real bloodbath. Like, a real spine-cracking, creatures-ripping-off-faces-and-then-eating-them feast of gore. Fans with a particular bloodlust are probably waiting for a really great red band trailer featuring red as the dominant color scheme, and though I have a brand new trailer right here, that thirst for blood for have to remain unquenched. This is a different kind of red band trailer.

As you could tell, there’s not really any blood, and the only real thing to justify the “red band” in the normal sense is the f-bomb. But I think that in the case of a movie like this, which focuses so much of suspense and horror, that's a good thing. The trailer gives you just little glimpses at the gore to let you know it's there, but refuses to reveal the goods in their entirety. It does an excellent job of holding everything back, so when we see it in theaters what happens will be all the more shocking. But, come on, they knew wouldn't settle for anything less than one f-drop.
