New set pics from The Batman show the suit and a stunt gone awry

The Batman, Robert Pattinson, Matt Reeves

Quick, somebody fire up the Bat-Signal, because we just got our best look yet at Robert Pattinson's new batsuit, which is set to swing through the crime-ridden streets of Gotham City when Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN swoops into theaters on June 25, 2021. The photos were taken by fans as well as members of Hollywood's seedy underbelly, the papparazzi, during a shoot in Glascow, Scotland.

While the photos give us a great look at the new suit – which appears to be outfitted with several gadgets – the outpouring of new behind-the-scenes materials also includes footage of a motorcycle stunt gone wrong. To be clear, it doesn't look as if anyone was significantly injured during the mishap, though I'd hate to be the costume department that now has to contend with a series of scuff marks along the bottom right portion of Batman's new getup.

You can take a look at the photos for yourself below:

In looking at the photos taken of the new suit, I'm seeing all manner of Bat-tech built into the Dark Knight's new gear, such as what looks like Bat-Darts on his gauntlets, a Bat Symbol that some have speculated is made up of the gun that killed Bruce's parents, and a helmet-like cowl complete with what I assume is tech-enhanced lenses for night vision and other such things. There's also the Batcycle itself, which looks to be a rather streamlined version of ones that we've seen in the comics or previous films. This makes sense, seeing as Reeves' movie is said to focus on the Bat's early crime fighting days, during a time when Bruce was still testing the waters for several of his wonderful toys.

Directed by Matt Reeves (CLOVERFIELD, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES), THE BATMAN stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Collin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / The Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, among others.

Plot details are still being kept under the cloak of night for the time being, though I suspect that we'll be learning much more about the film sooner rather than later. Oh what I wouldn't give to get an early look at the script penned by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin.
